When I was a little girl growing up in Cincinnati, I was part of a church musical called “Changes.” Somehow I have remembered most of the words from this musical over the years and today the one that is ringing through my mind is called Promises. There is one line that I have clung to especially in hard times with so many changes:
“He has given us promises, written there for us to see.
He has given us promises, promises for you and me.”
My little solo was: “God knows the lilies of the field, each bird up in the sky. But greater still His love for us, on that you can rely.”
I understood at a very young age how personal, yet powerful God’s promises are. There are over 8,000 promises in the Bible that God is faithful to keep. His sovereignty and love proves it over and over!
Today I am in a very strange season of change, but God’s promises never change. His promises are what inspire me to face every single day.
He goes before me.
He is with me.
He never leaves or forsakes me.
He sent Jesus to this earth to give me eternal life.
Maybe you are in a tough season and need to be assured of God’s promises for you. Go to His Word and open it up to see the treasure He has for you, right now, no matter what you are facing!
Don’t let this year get by you without hearing God speak his promises to you.
