Experience the JOY of my faith!

I found myself frustrated at the beginning of this year as I tried to find my “word” for 2019. I mean everyone has one and in previous years my “words” came so easy…

2016: Quest for Rest

2017: Redeemed

2018: Radiant with Joy. ( and Seasons began, a work still in progress)

I brainstormed and covered two pages of my journal with “words”. None of them were “the one”.

Finally , as I was reading from the book of Romans , God revealed a word that I knew I had to explore more:

Really? It seemed strange because I remember that I came to faith when I was a young girl. I loved reading about faith in the Bible. I even have it tattooed on my forearm!

As I began to explore the word FAITH in the Bible, I grabbed my gel pens, started in the New Testament, and circled the word FAITH every time I saw it! I spent an entire day doing this and only made it through Philippians. I was amazed to discover the many faucets of faith, especially when Paul would write about this beautiful word. One word, yet so much freedom and hope.

I decided that I was going to write each of these precious gems of scripture in a journal to create a faith log. It did not take long for God to use this in a very powerful way. The acronyms started to come to my mind, which I wrote out immediately:

In His

Truth, even when it’s

The truth is, it HAS been a hard season in my life and God knew I needed a “Faith-Lift”.

I began to see that FAITH is MORE than something that I came to know as a young girl, but something that requires action! God promises that when we seek Him with our whole heart we will find Him, how grateful I am that this is true!

While I could write an entire book about this, I want to share some of the immediate things that God revealed to me in hopes that YOUR faith will grow just a little more. These are just a few elements of my faith lift , I will be spending the year seeking and finding!

*Paul reminded me in Romans 1 that:

” The Good News ( of Jesus) tells us how God makes us right in his sight. This is accomplished from start to finish BY FAITH.” Romans 1:17

This is the foundation and the hope that anchors my soul. By believing this news, I can look deeper into the other faucets of faith or as Paul speaks of the way of faith! (I wrote about this in more detail in my ” Chloe” blog.)

For example:

*Standing Firm in my Faith: ” We want to work together with you so you will be full of joy, for it is by your own faith that you stand firm.” 2 COR 1:24

* ” What is important is FAITH expressing itself in love” Galatians 5:6

* ” Because of Christ and our FAITH in HIM, we can now come boldly and confidently into God’s presence”. Ephesians 3:12

* ” Safeguard your FAITH” Philippians 3:1

* Because you remained strong in YOUR FAITH, it gives us new life to know you are standing firm in the Lord.” 1 Thessalonians 3:7-8

* ” Avoid godless, foolish discussions with those who oppose you with their so-called knowledge. Some people have wandered from the FAITH by following such foolishness.” 1 Timothy 6:20-21

* “Cling to your FAITH in Christ!” 1 Timothy 1:19

These faucets of faith lead us to take action and persevere! Faith in Christ produces JOY that is unshakeable, even in difficult seasons. Flourishing faith, faith that does not WAVER, faith that is not shipwrecked and faith that heals is crucial in our journey as Christ followers.

See, my faith is mine and your faith is yours…. It is personal and it is your shield against the evil in this world! Always put your faith in Jesus rather than the world!

May we never let our faith sit stagnant but use it, flourish in it, grow in it, rest in it, and share it!

One of my favorite things is when I know that something in God’s word was meant for me to read at that very moment… the title of this blog is from Philippians 1:25, Paul writes,

” Knowing this, I am convinced that I will remain alive so I can continue to help all of you grow and EXPERIENCE THE JOY OF YOUR FAITH. “

Thank YOU Jesus for linking my JOY to my FAITH!!! My desire is also to help others grow in their faith just like I am… its a journey that will end in “Happily Ever After with Jesus” .

Flourish and

The glorious

Hope of Jesus!

Much love and joy to you,

    • Deborah, great question! I find that its hard to accept this joy when the enemy tries to rob me of it by reminding me of my shameful past, or trying to convince me that “ I’m not worthy “ of such joy. I use to shamefully think that I shouldn’t accept this joy. Once my relationship with God grew deeper, I realized that my joy is always inside of me! I don’t have to accept it over and over, but accept it once and for all! As my faith grows, my joy radiates brighter and brighter! By faith, the enemy will not ever steal my joy! There are times that it may not shine as bright, but it is an ever present gift from God! Worship ignites my joy in those “not so worthy “ moments and I immediately cling to Gods Word for HIS truth!

      • “ I prayed to the Lord, and he answered me,
He freed me from all my fears.
Those who look to him for help will be
        Radiant with joy;
No shadow of shame will darken their faces.”
        Psalm 34:4-5 NLT

Praise His Holy Name! Claim this promise!!!
